Ghost Technology is a Croatian based net label run by zlee and i:m. An independent platform used for releasing and promoting music with an underground edge. Established in 2008 and mainly focused on electro, Ghost Technology is releasing music by artists who are producing electro outside the bounds of old school influences, striving to create new sounds for the future of the genre. Living in the past is like visiting and re-visiting history hoping that the past can alter the present, or reminiscing on what might have been, or chewing on plain, old fashion nostalgia. Let it go with ghost technology. http://www.myspace.com/ghosttechnology
Semtek aka Benjamin Roth first became hooked on music listening to his Dad's collection of Brasilian pop music. By 1996 he had his first visit to a studio to record Double Bass for a well known drum 'n' bass producer, and was immediately taken by the way the engineer was able to build breakbeats using just his Akai sampler and Atari computer, resulting in numerous experiments on his school’s basic music setup. While living in Moscow in 2001 his dance music education continued after a chance meeting with a synth pop DJ, Andrei Panin and provided further new musical horizons.
After returning to London in 2003 he began a masters degree in Music and IT at City University (under Jim Grant, who had authored some of the early software for the Akai samplers). The last 4-5 years have been spent developing a sound in his home studio, culminating over 2008-2009 which was spent living in a small village in the French Alps writing the material that is now beginning to see the light of day on his new label, Don't Be Afraid. With DJ suppoert already from the likes of DJ 3000, Laurent Garnier, Scan X, Harri, Rob Mello, Rolando, Tom Buchan, Alex Attias, Dave Mothersole, Fabrice Lig, Lee Holman, Richard Sen, Colin Dale, Orde Miekle (Slam), Trevor Rockliffe, Jonty Skrufff, Bill Brewster, Don’t Be Afraid is already setting the world’s of techno and house alight. http://www.semtek.tv
