EPM was formed in January 2001 by Oliver Way and Jonas Stone as a promotion and DJ booking company. Soon after Melle Boels joined the company as a partner. They soon became aware of the emerging technology developments that would result in stores like iTunes and the emerging digital revolution and became convinced that it could offer current labels and artists a service that would help them to benefit form these new and exciting opportunities. Over the ensuing years digital distribution has become more and more apparant in the music business and so did the focus of EPM as the DJ booking agency was discontinued to make way for the developments in digital distribution as the company re-grouped and re-prioritised.
EPM Music has since developed with a focus to provide a highly professional service for its labels and customers, quickly establishing a strong market presence with all major outlets like Napster, iTunes, eMusic, Amazon, Spotify, Rdio, Deezer etc, alongside dance specific outlets such as JunoDownload, Beatport, Bleep, Boomkat, WhatPeoplePlay, Zero Inch, Stompy, Traxsource and so on. Renowned for its focus around quality instead of quantity, EPM Music’s success is largely dependant on their personal approach towards labels and artists. Labels are advised on promotional activities and a good relationship with the retail outlets ensures solid promotional opportunities for many of EPM clients that would not be able to get the same service directly with outlets.
