Nocta Numerica is pleased to announce the arrival of Luxus Varta on the label.
‘Plastic Time’ is a 5-track EP that fuses Electro and melancholic sonorities. The 13th release of the French label will be pressed at 300 copies and released late February 2019. It includes a special appearance by Paris the Black FU (Detroit Grand Pubahs) on the track ‘Stilnox’.
The release is about the perception of time depending on people’s activity and their mental state. Plastic Time (also known as Elastic Time) is a term developed by Intel researchers to describe a modern “experience that is highly interruptible, shrinking and expanding around immediate concerns, and interleaving through multiple activities”.
‘Feline’ sounds like a quest for the right timing within its several parts. Always looking for the superior rhythm and finally falling into an ambient “no time zone”. On ‘Stilnox’, Luxus Varta asked regular collaborator, Paris The Black FU to feel like someone who takes too many sleeping pills (Stilnox) and lives in another dimension where time is dilated and distorted. ‘October’ is a tribute to Luxus Varta’s favourite season, when days become shorter. Time seems to be compressed but nature goes slower; a kind of sweet paradox conducive to melancholy...
In his own words Luxus Varta says: “Music is the most abstract of art forms, the best way to represent fluctuation of time in my opinion.”
